I've been playing all the ships I barely touched when I played this 10 or so years ago in super melee. Back then, I once defeated a full 12 ships of Kzer-Za and Kohr-Ah ships with a single Eluder. Recently I've notciced that every fight the Spathi was useful in, the Supox can win too. The Supox can also take down many ships that the Spathi wouldn't DREAM of winning against, such as the Yehat or Mycon.
I've also noticed that the Blade takes by far the most practice before it's possible to play effectively with. This is one of the funnest ships to fly, and everyone should try it.
Can anyone give me tips on how to consistently beat a Druuge Mauler with it? I beat it once, but I think I just got really lucky. The Melnorme Trader is a royal pain, too.

First of all, beating a Mycon with the Spathi is the funniest thing you just spin around the mycon and let it bump into its own plasma blasts! Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I should go try that. Update: Tried it, pulled it off, enjoyed it. Wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, though. While I was playing Supox, I had a Mycon finish himself off like that but since the Supox doesn't move quite as fast he can't do that as effectively.
About the Supox/Druuge, well, I think it's easy enough to dodge the shells, so all you have to do is wait till it bounces backwards strong enough and accelerates fast enough to appear behind you.. I'm not having any luck with this. I can dodge him alright, but not enough that he eats all his crew or sends himself flying and is shot to pieces.
