So, I decided to make my own orchestral version of the Hyperspace theme. You can listen to it on Youtube or download an mp3. (The mp3 is half the length because the Youtube version loops once.)

I'll probably do a version of Mystic Shadows (Quasispace) at some point, too. I have no plans at the moment to do any of the other themes.

I do some orchestration myself, what program did you use?

Also, is there a possibilty of using this theme into the UQM-game?

I used Finale 2011.

It could probably be done.Getting it into the game means creating an add-on package though, I think. I'm not 100% sure on how that works, but presumably you could look at the Precursor remix packages (or the 3DO music package) for a reference. (They're ordinary zip files, but with a .uqm extension.) I'm not entirely sure if the game can read mp3s, but Finale produces an aiff file; I only converted it to mp3 to reduce filesize, and I could make the aiff available no request. (The YouTube video was actually made using the aiff, though iMovie probably converted it to something like AAC.)

Whoa, you made the chords minor. That totally changes the mood.

I find it interesting how clear it becomes that this is a bkg track when you strip it down to instruments like that.

And now, a version of the QuasiSpace theme, Mystic Shadows. The link is mp3 format; I haven't (yet) put it on Youtube because I can't decide what to use as a background. The dynamic range is perhaps a bit too wide, but whatever.
