The Talking Pet told me not to leave the system. What happens if I do?
I've got an army of Ur-Quan just outside of the system ensuring the game doesn't get a chance to yell at me.

My Guess: you can't use the talking pet again and so you will have to fight a fleet of about 15 dreadnoughts or 15 maulers BEFORE getting to the Sa-Matra with its 3-of-each fleet.
Perhaps it's even worse than that. I do remember that the first time my friend and I played the game we used our badass battleship to systematically cream every one of those battle groups before we even GOT the talking pet...

Just as an FYI I did bring super bad-ass battleship over along with a whole mess of Spathi escorts (to hold spare crew)...
I blew away the entire ring of Ur-Quan/Kohr-Ah ships...got to the Sa-Matra....unlimited Ur-Quan met me....there's a possibility of why the Ur-Quan lost the Doctrinal War...
Oh, and when you emergency warp out of the unlimited Ur-Quan battle, if you left any of the ships in that ring, they chase your ass to the ends of the earth until you get out of Ur-Quan space...
Sounds like fun heh

Didn't the Chmmr take out your emergency warp thingy inorder to make room for the BTNB (Bigger Than Neccesary Bomb)?

there's nothing keeping you from going to visit the Sa-Matra system at any time....as I said I used super bad-ass and cool ship and not Bloated Glory Device.

is there a way you can use the bomb for something else, like blowing up an alien world, without the game being over?

Yes, you can actually blow up the Rainbow Worlds with it! And when you do, you end up finding another bomb in the debris, to keep the game from becoming "unwinnable". Rather cute.
To do this, you need to repair the Ultron and recover the bomb without saving the game, then head to any Rainbow or Shattered World and use the bomb. Really. Trust me. Why would I lie about such a thing?

You only get the cloaking device if you first pillage the planet's core with a dnyarri-controlled Deep Child before blowing it up.

Fools - did you not know that the cloaking device is a myth?! Once you blow up the planet's core, what you find is a *Nnngn* Caster (but only if you have both the Umgah Caster and Burvix Caster first!). This Caster has an IDF (Inter-Dimensional Fatigue) related nature. Thus, when you use the three Casters together anywhere in Orz space, a black dot appears on the radar and starts chasing you. This is NOT the Melnorme; rendezvous with it, and converse with THE ANDROSYNTH!!!
If you're not in the Orz sphere of influence, nothing will happen, but NEVER EVER attempt to do this in the Arilou sphere or in Quasispace - everything that *smells* of *Nnngn* is BAD news there. You will be trapped *below*, and that is somewhere you DON'T want to be. Trust me.

what they should have done is have some sort of secret weapon of device on the surface of the planet below the sa-matra. because the only way to get to it would be to fight a whole lot of ur-quan
ideas: cloaking device, shield, missle launching module, or after burner for the mothership
