Quick question about escaping battles

Do you lose 10 fuel if you withdraw one of your support vessels and bring in a fresh one?

no. you only loose fuel when your precursor ship leaves the battle field, and returns you to either the solar system or hyper space. which ever is your current location.~DEFIANT

How can I escape from battle?

Well, it all depends, I know in the 3DO version that i have you have to push the A, B, C and R1 or something. Well, on second thought just hold down all the buttons.
On the computer version, which I dont have, you probably have to push the accelerate/fire/alt.fire buttons at the same time, if its anything like the 3DO.

keep in mind you must do this during battle, and it takes a little while to get moving. If you are fighting a strong/fast ship, i wouldnt recommend fleeing unless you're either close to the planet or very far away from it.

to escape battle please press button marked (Esc) on your keyboard.
this has been a test of your warp escape unit. if this had been an actual escape, your ship would begin to flash increasingly and fly off screen at warp.
we now return you to your UQM post forum. thank you. ~DEFIANT

Whoever escapes from battle is a coward! Fight like a man - die if you have to (or do so if your "leader" orders you to do so...)

This tactic works especially well when you go to the VUX, Mycon, Umgah, Ur-Quan, and Ilwrath homeworlds.   Grin  Sometimes retreat is a necessary action, one that worked very well for the first Alliance, I might add.

Retreating is never an option! Besides, if you fight against the ships of an homeworld long enough, they will surrender, and you will have a new subjugate race!

Okay, now WHO's taunting the newbies here, LP? That is sooo naughty naughty naughty!

But hey, one can at least try - worked for the Ur-Quan, might work for you, huh?

Guilty as charged I'm afraid. don't fight the homeworlds, it's no good. I'm just bitter cause I fought Admiral ZEX for an unstated number of hours before giving up on that approach...
