Hello, forum peeps. I just found this game a few days ago, and I've been playing it quite a bit. Finally starting to get the hang of the basics I think, so I figured why not join the forums? I have no idea how to do an introduction post. :| That's about it.

Hello, and welcome!
Would you like to describe how your adventure goes? Someone's doing a detailed walkthrough on the other main forum, and that's a lot of fun to read. I don't expect you to match The Troglodyte in detail, of course, but it would be nice to hear generally what order you do things in and when you figure things out.

Haven't been to PoNaF ( Pages of Now and Forever) in quite a while now.... 67 pages has Troglodyte's report by now?
Wow!
I may need to keep my fingers to myself. Playing this game again without knowing anything about what will happen and is where? Damn, that would be worth having my memories altered....
edit: regarding PoNaF forum: did they move to a new forum? Been about time. But my account is not active anymore.... Re-registered and awaiting approval. Scrolling through Troglodyte's reports... Dang.. Been so long since I could play SC that carefree...I simply know too much, like where to find my first ally, how to use the ships, in which general direction/region I find what, ....

Troglodyte… care… free?
That's not the adjective I'd think of, there. Meticulous, more like.

carefree in the sense of not knowing what is happening and will happen. I never reverted to using slave trading practices, but my school comrade with whom I compared my progress did. He was too lazy to find another way...
Yeah, I've read a bit more. His use of... the time travelling device... seems to be a bit extremely extensive. He may not trigger events if he jumps back and forth using the device.... He knows about the events, but cannot act.... That may become very frustrating for him. (Got to page 15, and he must have spent hours of his life in the menus of the time travelling device by now)
Edit: I just saw the last posts, and he's still playing his first game, after 2 years? He wants a perfect play the first time around? He already wasted so much time mining and then, when visiting the next system, jettison the load of minerals. Morally, it's good to protect every single one of his crew, but the extensiveness of his time portal use is dangerous.
Heck, I never read all of the futures the Pkunk forecasted me ( http://www.star-control.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=22935#p22935 ), as I quickly found out that this conversation will not matter in the least. In hidsight they are very interesting and foreboding, but lack any real hints. They are spoilerish story-wise, but contain no information on how to achieve the referred to events.
