Hello, everyone. And thanks to the makers of Ur-Quan Masters for all their hard work.
Could anyone tell me what the total word count is for SC2’s story? What’s the total words from all the dialogues, etc.? I’ve done some basic google searches and couldn’t find this info, but I figure someone here must know.

I'd get UQM, unzip the content pack, and call wc -w on everything that looks like game text, especially in the comm directories.

Go there, the quotes texts are fully online there, sorted by race.
You might want to consider the handbook/player's guides too, as they include more background text.

I ended up using the sa-matra.net page that has all the dialogues. I just copied them and pasted them into a word processor. In case anyone is ever curious here are my counts for Star Control 2:
~100,400 words
~12,100 lines of dialogue (including player responses)
~225 pages (in my word processor, although this could be different in different applications)
So, that's a decent length novel right there. Not bad.
