Ugh. Dude, you did not just ask everyone who has posted a "I wanna" to re-post them here. Do you realize the sheer volume of "I wanna"s that have laden down these boards for so long? Here, let me give a short list: Opening and Ending Cinematics, Online melee, SC1 full game style game, SC1 full game style game with online play, SC2 full game online play Magically re-record the voices for the suggested PC ending, (the voice synthesizer is new) Game Editor, Ship Editor, Map Editor, Game randomizer, (just made that up myself) SC1 type ship profiles, (Hey, they've already been done) 3do video ship profiles, AI that could actually win a battle once in a while, Official (FF&PR3's ideas) SC3 expansion pack, Adding that world where FF & PR3 appears as Gods, Expanded talnya (sp?) sex scene, Improved resource gathering (as originally intended by FF&PR3) Final version released on CD signed by FF&PR3.
And that’s just off the top of my head. If anyone wants to add to this list, go ahead. As for me I think this particular theme has been done to death. Fun as itl is to postulate, I say let's stop heaping the "I wanna"s on the UQM development team and heap more appreciation. I'll start.
To Serge van den Boom, Mika Kolehmainen, Michael C. Martin, and Chris Nelson and the rest, thank you for following in the footsteps of two beings greater than us all, Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III. We realize that you could spend your time on much more lucrative pursuits than chasing down bugs for a re-tread of a classic title, and we love you for it. Every new beta makes our hearts jump for joy. Every moment we feel we are getting closer and closer to the final release gives us hope for a brighter future. Thank you for not being the lazy, mooching bastards we are and actually producing what we ourselves have only dreamed of. Thank you for digging up our favorite game, breathing new life into it, and encouraging us to share it with out friends. I hope that one day this miraculously turns to a multimillion dollar endeavor for you and you all get to retire for the wonderful work you do. Cheers!

Spathi? What spathi? You're imagining, hunam.

For the base game, only 2 minor things.
A way to speed up navigation in planetary systems, especially when near an individual planet. Even with full thrusters, it often takes more time to fly up to an unguarded planet from the near-orbit view then it does to reach that planet from the boundaries of the solar system.
A way to limit in system views to the whole system view and the no planet view.
For an add on pack - Randomized precursor artifacts used for escort ships ala star control 1.
More technology to buy from the Melnorme, enhanced ship thrusters, 4x lander cargo space, maybe double space cargo holds? Primairly stuff to make exploration less painful without making combat even easier.

We did. You did. Yes we can. No.

How about this -- rather than BETTER ship thrusters, how about weaker ship thrusters (I mean, cut the option for current thrusters)-- but weaker only in one category. So you can buy a thruster which will be fast in combat and solar systems but not so fast in hyperspace... or you can buy a thruster than oly provides half thrust in both fields, but also provides a little bit of turning.
Oh, and there could be fuel economy thrusters which don't provide more than a little thrust but they really cut down on the fuel used...

You know, this might seem stupid, but has anyone considered asking the original voice actors if they'd mind reading the few lines from the the PC ending? Or we could just have people from the board do it... seeing how many of us there are, I'd say there's a good chance there's at least one of us that can do a good impression of every race. I do a mighty fine Ur-Quan if I do say so myself.

I think I remember that the Orz actor was actually FF or PR3...
