Finally got around to sit down and listen to the mod..

Interesting comment in the MOD, he used the names of the samples to complain about the disk manufacturer....

I agree with Serosis. Not really fitting SC2.

Too playful and forceful at the same time...
And switching between musical statements....

When talking to a race, mixing statements may be okay (e.g. agressive Melnorme after you took some RU, and peaceful Melnorme), but that would be easier implemented through different MODs.

(BTW, using/testing OpenMPT, as it allows to work without being installed - handy for work machines, or on a guest machine/account - works astonishingy well.)

BTW, jsut found "The MOD archive", which has an online player, so you can play any track within your browser...
Doesn't seem to that great player, but works for a first listening...

I also saw at least the Yehat theme online. https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=62681

Maybe upload it there and link it from here?
So that everyone can listen themselves, even if quality ain't that great using the online player...

I could really see this theme working with Androsynth, if they were in the game.

And I can't shake the feeling that I've already heard it somewhere else. Which is not impossible, given that it's been around since 1992, though I'm certain I've never read the comments in the MOD file before.

The same feelings. But in tracker music, there were often similar compositions. For me, for example, it strongly reminded some of the tracks from the Jazz Jackrabbit soundtrack.

I agree with player1: there's very much "synth" in this piece of music. After hearing it I too immediately thought that it could work very well as Androsynth theme with matching gfx/animation.

It also sounds a bit like the Druuge theme, at least at the beginning; and I think I can also hear some resemblances to Jazz Jackrabbit as mentioned.

I ended up using this in Gorno for the main game. Felt it was appropriate for a shmup-like, and that a shmup-like would be the best genre to tell Delta Gorno's story Tongue
