Howdy Folks,
While scanning our mod contest music entry envelopes from 1992 and comparing them with the info in wiki.uqm.stack.nl/Star_Control_Music, I found one error worth noting -- the original melee combat music was created by Marc (Maruku) Brown, not Dan Nicholson as shown on the page. Dan created tons of awesome music, just not that one.

Huh, usually the comments in the MOD are correct. Perhaps it would be wise to revert the credit back to Dan and let me investigate a little further. Sorry if this was a goose chase.

I tracked down Marc's original MOD and while it was one of our contest winners, it wasn't used in the game -- Dan Nicholson's credit should be restored (sorry Dan!)

Maybe a plot post with links to whatever web-accessible file storage you have? Would be neat to see a blog post all about what was left on the cutting room floor, along with original sources for the beautiful cut scene art in the game.
If nothing else, Amazon Drive allows for specific file sharing via web links.

This device has no tracker installed, so I'll play and listen tomorrow.
And if you'd played the original game without ever meeting the Pkunk, the Pkunk soundtrack would sound off too. That was smply true forall of them...

Neat mod. Already giving me prompting to implement certain effects in my side project. (Plus fix a Effect F, Ticks Per Division/Beats Per Minute issue. For some reason, two Effect F settings in one division.) Found a new test mod.
EDIT: Took adding a few features to the audio subsystem and getting the module player to process the effects, but... Seems like it works. I'll need to do some careful verification with comparative listening with MilkyTracker to check to make sure the effect work as intended.

Thanks for sharing this. It sounds sort of Street Fighter-ish. Wouldn't want it over the melee theme you guys went with. Maybe it would've worked over a cutscene - an Utwig battlegroup ambushing some Kohr-Ah?
