I don't have a picture of it in front of me, but I'm guessing the smoke is just water vapor. Plants need water, ya know.

No, Primat is right: plants thrive best if the materials AROUND them are white. That way the light is reflected off of the non-plant surfaces and onto the plant . An exception of course being if the plant is one which prefers shade, which can happen if too much light would make it heat up and dry out, which would be bad.

I would assume that since they're mobile, the Supox don't need soil to grow roots... either that or their roots also act as their legs... and maybe they only plant themselves in the dirt when they're *hungry*.
