In the beginning of the game after a while the Starbase Captain tells of some radiowaves from Rigel. When I go there, I find a Zoq-Fot-Pik. They ask me to visit their homeworld. I go to their homesystem and in hyperspace get some 10 ships around me. One of them eventually catches me, and it turns out to be Ur-Quan, usually Kohr-Ah.
When I played an older version (0.18 I think) I didn't see any Ur-Quan in hyperspace.
Some alien races' ships will randomly appear in worlds in their sphere of influence.
The Z-F-P homeworld is unfortunately, in the Kzer-Za/Kohr-Ah sphere of influence. So you'll have twenty Kohr-Ah ships in their system at times, and at others, none at all.
(and when you meet them they'll still say they had a 'close call last week but no Kohr-Ah ships since then have entered the system' *rolls eyes*)
If you don't have the patience for that, then just dodge the ships. If you stay far enough from them, they won't be alerted to your presence and pursue you. When you approach the few orbiting their planet in the planet zoom screen, just lead them away from the planet, and circle around to the planet. After finishing your conversation with the Z-F-P, continue to dodge the Marauders around the planet for the next five minutes as all the Marauders in system flock to that planet screen. Lead them all to around the middle, then break for the edge of the screen, and then break for the edge of the star system. If the Marauders are too close to the edges of the zoom screen when you jump to the star system screen, they'll tag you before you can start moving. (Your thrust is zero'ed out when the screen changes.)
Oh, and obviously make sure you have full thrusters and turning jets before you try this.

We are the Ur-Quan Kohr-Ah. Our nature, the fulfillment of our fate requires your destruction. You are filth. It is now your time to be cleansed.
