Easy to put in, just there for more toys, since it's practically identical to the pc starcon 1 version. Same with the Chenjesu and MrmnHrmn.

The more the merrier. I'd be a little pissed if they left out the three perfectly good ships that weren't in the story.

because the save team "sc1 ships" would be tragicly incomplete without the androsynth, chenjesu, and mrnmrhrm

Didn't they also release a Demo Melee first for SC2... with just the SC1 ships to show what it would look and play like. Also gave a nice twist of the "Find me" Snyth ship hoping one might appear somewhere in the game.

Yes, but that doesn't have the same "These two ships cannot ever exist at the same time" kind of mindbend to it.
One of the reasons I despised SC3 was the loss of perfectly good SC1 and SC2 ships. Of course, much of that was legal reasons, but it's a crippling flaw anyway.

They left out many ships in SC3, and that was one of the many problems with the game. Androsynth, Chenjesu, Druuge, Ilwrath, Melnorme, Mmrnmhrm, Slylandro, Supox, Shofixti, Thraddash, Umgah, Yehat, and Zoq-fot-pik were all taken out. I'm glad they didn't do that with SC2.

Yes - of the many woes of SC3, the designers failed to follow a simple rule when making sequels:
Don't take away people's toys!
I know I was really disappointed when I learned that they were excluding the above mentioned ships from "hypermelee".

How DID you beat a Chmmr with a Chenjesu??!!
and indeed, the transformer rocks. Every time I play the full game mode in SC1 (I still do) they are like the ships that rock. Give me a hierachy battle thrall, I'll toast 'm with the transformer w00h00!
but enough nonsense,
personally, I'd like to see MORE toys in UQM. So people, how about an easy-to-use unit editor for UQM, where you can build completely new units from scratch (or bitmaps, when completely zoomed in) in just an hour. I'd love to build a new game for it, but that takes too much time, and the game will suck anywayz. I think here's something that alot of players would like.
