In the hypothetical SC3 v2.0, I think that the Spathi should be included somehow.  They were always my favorite aliens(Fwiffo's monlogue on Pluto is probably the funniest moment of the game.)

Well even in SC3 Version 1, they were included. I seriously doubt in Version 2 they'll be excluded, given how vital most players consider Fwiffo to the whole plot of the game.

My actual concerns regarding races that will be left out, extends to races such as Supox, Zoq-Fot-Pik, and Slyandro. The first plays second banana the whole game-through, the second never even needed to be encountered to win the game, the third is so restricted to their far far distant home planet that I can easily see them slipping away into obscurity.

Well, we'll probably never see their PROBES again, outside of supermelee -- but they should not be omitted from the game.

Also, I'd like to see a few ships introduced for which the ZFP is a finely tuned killing machine and few other ships can meet the bill. Of course, that will be a major design challenge in itself... maybe it shoots fat bullets that only the tongue can destroy??

Uhhhh....I can think of several at least for me - ZFP has been my first choice lately in real melee games.  One free tip - try and pinball your opponent as a ZFP...if you know a pinball table and a pinball you'll know what I'm talking about.

I know the latter, but unfortunately I don't know what you're talking about. Does it involve high-speed asteroids?

Oh, I've never played SC3.  How did they get the Spathi to come out of their shield?

The same way they got humanity out from under the shield.  The chmmr apparently eat ur-quan slave shields for breakfast.

After the fall of hyperspace, the spathi came along to keep the universe from breaking, which would be bad.

In sc3 v1 they had a great voice acting and a terrible renedition of the void ship as it is called there.
The spathi did however complain about the viciousness and evil deeds of the chmmr, exposing them like that to the danger of the universe yet again.
Their first dialog, although somewhat predictable is ctually quite funny.

The rest of the game is crap.
