In oder to balance out our resident world-destroying Primat's topic about dying, I thought I'd put up one about living. If you, as hmuans had a chance to enter the SC universe just after the events in SC2, and we assume (big assumption, but just go with it for the time being) that trading agreements and free travel treatys are negotiated with most if not all races, where would you like to settle? Would you stay with the humans, heloping to rebuild our interstellar civilisation? Would you settle in a Pkunk monastery, to learn the secrets of the astral world? Perhaps you'd rather join a band of ragtag Traddash mercenaries, or settle with the Orz for *dancing*? This is your chance to tell the rest of us what you'd do.
Personally, I think I'd settle with the Umgah. The opportunity to get a few enhancements, and the chance to learn thousands of hilarious jokes would far surpass any downsides...

Well, now that I'm married, I guess the syreen are out of the question.
I'd probably settle on Vela, or a similar community, set up a farm and live off the land.
And of course stedy work at the precursor factory is just down the street in case times ever get tough.

I'd buy a surplus scout, take out the glory device, and have a sensor package installed. Go exploring... and if someone tries to take me out, well, I'm a pretty mean shot with a Mendokusai energy dart!

I'd go to Falayalaralfali. All that freeky stuff they tell you about at the planet sounds fun.

Make sure to get acclimated first, though, otherwise you go numb. That doesn't sound too good.
If I didn't do that, I'd go live with the Yehat, learn to fly a Terminator and kick some remnant-royalist arse.
If I was going to go solo, I'd steal Admiral ZEX's modified Intruder (hopefully stronger engines) and start my buisness. Limpet the hell out of a ship, "realize" that it's not unfriendly, and offer to remove the limpets. . . at cost, of course. 
One other thing I'd do, but in sheer and total desperation (or if my life REALLY sucked) is go to the Mycon and join the Juffo-Wup. Wonder what it's like to be a fungus? *zombie look* (I still think my game idea Fungal Growth is a good one, the Mycon weren't discussed in detail and the Juffo-Wup is a strange but cool religion.)

I don't think that joining a Thraddash mercenary unit would be a very condusive to "longevity".
But regarding the question, I would probably go along with the good old stand-by: space piracy. I'd save up to buy a Probe from the Melnorme and set up shop in a nice spot of Galaxy. After the Probe created enough copies of itself, I would direct them to disable any ships that came within range. Then I would go mad with power.

i think id be a explorer, or maybe someone who collects Bio units (the evil ones ) and drops em on planets of races, unless they pay
or maybe id just fly around, colonizing planets.....
