Here, here. Speaking as a veteran, I of course I've seen every topic already. However, Lukipela, did you let the newbies talk it talk it out a bit before busting in your 2 cents. You know, you've done this before in other threads. If you're tired of not having anything new to read here, then take your ball and go play somewhere else. I'm not saying that to be rude to you, Luk. I'm saying that because you've been quite rude to every other newbie on this board. We need the newbies. UQM is not an exclusive club. We need a constant flow of new blood to the fanbase or we will never see a UQM sequel, and you don't want that do you? Go easier on all the new guys and if you're tired of the same old rehashed, ignore the thread and it'll fall off the screen like every other dumbarce topic we've had so far.
Heh. My apologies if this seems offensive to you guesst, but it just struck me as highly amusing....
Old timers response? Seems very much like what I was refering to once upon a time...
Leave the new topics alone old timer

Now, now. My responce was not meant to proscribe the newbies from making an old thread. Just to give the newbies something to read, maybe give them some ideas.
But, no. I don't find it offensive, luk. I feel for all the s*&# I've given you, I deserve a little back. If I can't let these things roll off like water on a duck's back, then I shouldn't put myself in the line of fire, should I?

Here's my top 4:
1) Planescape: Torment 2) Sacrifice 3) Homeworld 4) Starcraft
There many, many others worth mentioning, but I couldn't really get myself to number them.

I was reading the old post and I had a couple responses, probably for old timers (does matticus still post here?) But some glaring omissions I thought of:
The Kings Quest and Wing Commander Series Master of Magic!
And didn't *anybody* else LOVE Ultima 8? Maybe it was because I played it first, but after I did I couldn't stand 7 (go isometric!)
Anyway, I know I'm preaching to the choir but they just don't make games like they used to--not enough attention to detail in the plot and universe, too much attention to graphics and flash. The last game that blew me away was Baldur's Gate 1, and 2 was such a disappointment to me ultimately--less exploring and mystery in the plot, more GODSWORD +30 dungeon hacking. And the last game before *that* was Heroes of Might and Magic 2--another glaring omission! Of course perhaps you all are more sci-fi and less fantasy, a little less country, a little more rock-n-roll. Ahem--just had to reminisce.

Out of curiousity, anybody every played Independence War 2? I just got it a few days ago (best $5 I spent in ages, thank you EB superbargain rack). Amazing game....was almost even better, but you can see where the marketing people made them dumb it down. Fortunately, you can undumb it pretty easily.

Dune 2 Duke Nukem 3d Space Quest games Warcraft II Starcraft Civilization 1 & 2 Half-life
They really don't make them like they used to though, really great games are few and far between. Most games nowadays it seems like it takes them sooo long to get those really cool graphics engines... that they forget about concentrating on gameplay.
I miss the "era" of adventure gaming and humerous games like Space quest, starcon2, duke nukem 3d.

I wish I could get my hands on I-War 2.
Anyone has an opinion on how it compares to Freelancer?
A few other favorites: Arcanum, Fallout I and II, Privateer II, Chrono Trigger.
