idea for the yehat queen you find out from a yehat that the queen has a lot of gold silver copper money in vaults on 3 moon in there star system and when you get them to start there war you take the money its a lot of metal to make another ship like zelnicks but you build it at the syreen star base and for the syreen whats her name gets to captain it

Spathi? What spathi? You're imagining, hunam.
|
A) People involved in civil wars generally don't have time to send large fleets off to destroy bases far away from home.
B) You can't build another ship just like Zelnick's, since the factory is out-of-commission.
C) The existing Yehat civil war story works far better than this.
D) Forcing people to do combat with enemy yehats will not make you any friends in the community.

ck... not to be rude or hurt your feelings, but i tried this route of exploring possible storys for a new sc3 and the like. all it got me was a few good laughs =thanks lukipela, for sim control 3= but all in all, i got the impression that the people here, all have there own ideas and =guessing= really dont care to go into deep disussion about "what ifs". but thats not to say your ideas are wrong. we all have are "what ifs". i just dont want you to get the wrong idea , its just this topic, and others like it got burnt out a while ago. so if you feel like some people are poking fun of your thoughts, dont take it to heart too much... just sit back and smile, and know its all in good fun ~DEFIANT

One of the big things is that what-ifs in bare bones pretty much always sound stupid. Telling a good story has a lot to do with setting, pace, timing, characterization, dialogue and whatnot--if you just give a what-if synopsis of any game, it ends up sounding pretty goofy--just give it a try.
What if there is this boy on a farm whose father has basically forgotten about him? What if he finds two robots who lead him on a wild goose chase? What if they lead him to an old guy who teaches him about "the force" which gives him a lot of power? What if he uses the power to confront his father and his father's new master who are now evil, and building a big starship to blow up planets, because this force has a bad side? What if he also finds a princess who happens to be his twin sister and she also happens to be fighting the bad guys? What if his sister ends up falling in love with a guy who helps him out, fighting the bad guys so they are all happy in the end?
Or even--
What if two races were forced into slavery? What if afterward they fought over the best way to dominate: slavery or genocide? What if they had a super battle station and they were able to enforce slavery or genocide? What if a human went around to all the enslaved people and started a slave revolt? What if he found super weapons and destroyed their battle station?
Pretty goofy huh? It just takes a lot a way from the depth when you present it logically, point by point as you built it up in your mind. If you really wanted to write a good story about gold and yehat, you could take a good 200 pages and do it properly, with a young yehat farm boy, tripping over the strange seal of the Yehat royal treasury on an abandoned moon. Perhaps the moon is not so abandoned after all? But then, he begins asking questions in the wrong places and discovers new friends and enemies he never knew he had! Suddenly, he is whisked away into a world of intrigue and danger and general sexiness! Hijinks, deus ex mach, embarrasing situations, bildungsroman, latent super powers and other such things ensue.
Anyway, I guess my point is, don't feel bad if people mock it, they'd mock anything presented in that form--a lot of it is about style.

We did. You did. Yes we can. No.

That only changes at the very end of the game, and only if you started the Yehat revolution.
One of my favorite things to do is to start the revolution while the pkunk are in the southwest corner, and then immediately Q-space over to the Sa-Matra and go win. Somehow, the Yehat win the civil war AND get the Pkunk queen AND get all the way to the Sa-Matra site, all in the space of about a week.
