I want a web/java map that we can use at the same time to look around universe and see where to get resources, where to avoid, rainbow planets etc...

if I remember right the game came with a map. (or was that sc3?) and it was usefull. even just a scaned and multi page printable copy would be nice.

At star-control.com, they have a PDF (Adobe Acrobat) of the original map, as well as some web-based maps. A project to unify these as an application would be a good idea.
