I just found out that if you're operating with one fusion blaster, three dynamos, full maneuvering, but don't have tracking modules... well, mycon are pretty freaking annoying!

Hell you can say that about lots of races at the beginning. Taking on a VUX fleet with only a single ion-bolt cannon can get really aggravating if you get hit with even a couple limpets, usually from bouncing off a planet and into their path.

Bah just use the earthling against the Vux. When i originally played this game way back when I hated collecting minerals. I just used my earthling and destroyed several hundred Vux ships then returned home with all those resources Smiley

Well, I am annoyed that the freighter goes from crapola to the incredible hulk battleship with the simple addition of the tracking modules.

Much like the incredible Hulk goes from wimp to monster with only a change of colour and bodymass... You don't need it to be invincible, but it sure helps...

Geez, and I thought I was sarcastic.  Tongue
The race I hated dealing with w/o tracking was probably the Thraddash. They move too fast for tracking purposes.

overall, mycon is probably the easiest ship to hunt for RUs.  Is there anything better?

The Ilwrath Avenger's miserable weapons range makes it easy prey for anything that moves fast and has a decent weapons range. The Avenger may be worth little as scrap, but at least you can kill them in absolutely no time and minimal risk with practically anything except a Cruiser, unless the Avenger sweeps past a planet without you noticing and gets stuck to your ship.

The VUX is probably the easiest thing in the game to kill.. Using Fwiffo, there's no way to lose that battle really, and a lot of RU's to be made...

Perhaps it's considered cheap and unskillful, but when I hunt for RUs, I prefer to finish fights quicker than the Eluder can.... ususally I just take my main ship and blast the hell out of the Mycons if I am in the hunting mood.

This is true; it's pointless to fight in a ship that can emerge unscathed if it'll take you forever and a day to finish the combat. For quick RU-amassing purposes, the VUX is probably the best to try and take out in this case; the nuclear missiles are pretty damaging and the Intruder isn't exactly one for dodging.

Hmmm.. VUX vs. Eluder fights don't take that long, do they? I always thought they were comparatively short... And it's very relaxing to bash some VUX after a long day of universe saving....
