That post on Matrix and SC2 got me thinking
has anyone noticed the extreme similarity between Babylon 5 and SC2
in Bab 5 you've got 2 ancient races the Vorlons and the Shadows.
The Vorlons ahave green ships and believe in order and obedience
The Shadow have black ships and believe in chaos and survival of the fittest
these two races rest for control of all the younger races.
I wonder which was made first ?

SC2 was made far before B5. Though, the shadows and kohr-ah don't match up too well. Shadows breed chaos, but they also help out some of the younger races to get it - the centauri, and earthgov under Clark both gain access to shadow technology. The only technology a kohr-ah ever gives a younger race is a spinning disk right through their hull. Similarly, I'm not too sure the Vorlon's believe in obedience - most of the time, they didn't talk to anybody.
There is a similarity in that the younger races are trapped in war between giant powers in both games, but beyond that, I'm not sure I see too much. Especially since Vorlon ships tend to be mostly brownish, with some green mixed in. They're closer to being woodland camo then green.

btw I'm not talking about storyline, there are obvious differnces.
But the plot feature. Shadows are fighting the Vorlons. They been doing this again and again similar to the ritual Ur-Quan Ko-Arh battle that keep taking place to decide who will control the galaxy.
in SC2 if the Ko-Arh win they will exterminate anyone that opposes them
In Bab5 the shadows will exterminate anyone that opposes them as well.
In both cases you either fight for them for they will kill you
in SC2 the Ur-Quan want to control everything, races that align with them and do as they command the rest have their worlds bound in slave shields.
in Bab5 the Vorlons also seek to control everything, but manipulating races behind the scenes, they dont need to say much becasue they ahve everyone convinced that thier the good guys until in series 4 and 5 they find out the Vorlons just want to wipe out the shadows to have total control over the races. anyone who dosent , dosent live.
Sure it anit 100% the same but you can see the similarties obviously there not going to be identical , but there quite similar when u think about it.
also the spidery nature of the illrwrath is similair to the phsical appaearnce of the shadows and the they both use cloaking tech.
anyway just a rant, but one still can't help wonder was Michael Straczynski an SC2 fan  ?

almost forgot
even though it's kinda differnt it's also kind similar
to make a ship able to hold it's own with the Shadows and later with the Vorlons, the Mimbari used vorlon tech to make a hybrid ship the White Star able to hold it's own against the to races (Primary weapon foward beam cannon)
in SC2 the Chenjesu and the Mmrmnhm fused to create the Chmmr with a ship that could handle both Ur-Quan and Ko_Arh , and primary weapon was of course forward facing beam cannon
