I was just reading an interview with Kevin Weisman (some guy who's on Alias) in Game Informer (it's not mine! my brother has a subscription):
So, is it kind of a bizarre sensation to see yourself in a game?
It's a little weird. That, and we have action figures coming out. It's become such of [sic] a phenomenon in terms of the peripheral elements. It's cool. All my friends that are gamers...a good friend of mine, Jack Black, is an actor, and we play games together a lot. We used to play Star Control, back in the day. We used to have Star Control battles late into the night. He was really excited when I told him that there was going to be a video game that I was in. It's every little kid's dream. So, it's interesting that my acting career has taken me to have a video game that I'm in.

Jack Black was a SC fan? For some reason that doesn't surprise me. Funny to find out, and not something that I would have though about on my own, but if any celebrity was to be a SC fan it would have to be him.
I could see maybe Silent Bob or Jay too. But that's just postulation.

Oh, and while we're speaking of Mr Reynolds, it's worth pointing out that Erol Otus, the guy who made the Ur-Quan Kzer-Za theme for SC2, and more recently the Kzer-Za bonus remix, is somewhat well-known outside Star Control circles as a guy who made lots of classic art for Dungeons & Dragons books.

Jack Black was also in the movie Orange County, which I remember rather clearly since Orange County is like an hour or two away from my house.
You do know that most anyone in the continental US is a few hours away from an Orange County, I know of three(New York, California and either Florida or Geogia). A celebrity, if anyone I would have to say William Shatner, as Sci-Fi has been his life for the past 40 years(Star Trek, Tek War, novels based on Star Trek).
