Hey, in another Thread i followed this link:

Quote

and found under SC2 Quotes -> Arilou Lalee'lay
following quote:
Quote
Have you even heard about the Men in Black?
Mmmhm. Now. That could be a great idea for a sequel. Don't you agree?? Something lika a top-secret agency started by the UN to control alien immigration.
Funding could be done by researching alien technology and try to use it here on earth.
Just image some people all clad in black. As well as black sunglasses.  Wink

Image all the new spaceship designs. And as the aliens would come to earth, it would be easy to make infinitely much sequels with ever new space-ships and aliens.  Shocked

Great prequel idea. Something like "Star Control -2 - Men in Black"? Cheesy

That quote in the Arilou text was from the final credits, and should probably be read as a joke.   Wink

I know where that quote came from. I just needed this page to remember it.
But since i haven't seen the films at that time, i never noted it.

Now it seems to me, like the producers at Warner-Studios got the idea from SC2 and TfB. The complete world of SciFi can be connected to the Star-Control Series. (The Matrix isn't Sci-Fi - It's reality! Wink ) Maybe we should change the VUX-Beast-picture to an alien (from the trilogy) or just place such an alien on one of the empty planets (could be scanned as an energy reading).

Just some weird ideas by a weirdo.

Greetings, Krulle

You'd probably have copyright infringement, because there's already an game called MiB out. Don't ask me the details tho.
Trademark infringement, more like. The phrase "MIB Men in Black" appears to be a registered trademark (in the US, at least) for a wide range of stuff (including towels and CD-ROM computer games). As long as you distribute over Internet you should be OK (IANAL). Leaving out the "MIB" part could be enough to avoid trademark problems, too, but I really don't know that much about trademark law.

Nah, you'd get struck down very quickly. Take a look at FreeCraft and Blizzard - FreeCraft just had the *name*, nothing more, and was forced to shut down. MiB would be as well.

Personally I think this idea is pretty silly.  But the whole Men in Black thing has been around for a really long time, long before the movie or game.  Heck, even x-files had it first.  If you wanted to make a game called 'star control: men in black'' the only people who would sue you would be Acclade.  I'm sure as long as you didn't use MiB or something, you would be fine.
