To not particularly risk throwing out spoilers to you...
1) How long have you played the game? (in real time) Is this your first shot or have you tried a long time at it?
2) What do you know and have done (within the game)?

Re-try playing the game. This time around, don't waste time - get money, upgrade ship, ally with several races - then start buying info from the Melenhorme. The Melenhormes advice (if you don't click right past it) is basically a walkthrough to what's happening in the game and what you're supposed to do. Make sure you visit every interesting place you hear of, and do whatever can be done around there. Revisit certain places once in a while.
Make sure to visit the "hole in space" the spathi mention, to cut down travel time.

I know where the 3dimension is, the "easy way" as said by those aliens, I know how to get alliances w/ almost all the races, I wanna know if its possible to kill all the enemy ships like is there a set number of them or is it unlimited? In the game around when the birds to the southwest of you move to get slaughtered by their bird-alien brothers w/ shielding ships (tough to kill shields+really fast shootin ships) anyways thats about when the black ur-quan won the fight w/ the green ones and went to kill everything.. I got all the parts for that thing that the middle northern aliens that are all depressed about, but don't know how to give it to them cuz they dont wanna talk cuz their depressed, the first time i played, i read all the text from everybody. The first time i played i didn't investigate alot of the stuff because the info for it came in all too quickly

Non-spoiler stuff again.
1. No it is not possible to kill all the enemy. You do need to destroy something that is very special to them. Of course, that's very hard and you need the tools to do that with. 2. The conversation option won't come up likely because you need the old broken thing the Utwig are depressed over. Plus you need to fix it with the parts you found (hopefully 3 of them, right)?

Ok, Quick and Dirty way of getting Started. Read at your own risk A EXTREME SPOILER WARNING is in effect.
To beat the game, quick reference list:
1. Do the Sol system missions. 2. Get Fwiffo. Congratulations, you now have the arguably most powerful ship in the game. Repair it first, though. 3. Meet Melnorme at Alpha Centauri. Be friendly. 4. Using Load/Save procedure, raid said system´s planets of the massive amounts of Exotics there. You will see what I mean with Load-Save. 5. Get Vindicator filled up with AntiMat Thrusters and Turning Jets. 6.Head over to the Vulpeculae Stars, have Orz join, Get Taalo Shield. 7. Head to Zeta Sextantis in VUX Space, check our Rainbow world, kick serious VUX ass with Fwiffo (Very Easy money, almost cheating) 8. Head to Earth 9.Meet ZogFotPik at Rigel 10. Use the 500 Credits and buy Techs from the Melnorme, save the rest. Make sure you install the High-Ef Fuel Systems. 11.Quickly head to the Spathi, ally with them, head to Earth and buy Eluders until you have a total of about 4. 12. Go meet the Pkunk and get the Clear Spindle and the 4 Furys. Hang onto them. If you need money, go kick VUX ass again. 13.Tank up, brace yerself and head up, towards Beta Corvi, to stop those probes. 14. On the way, you should stop at the "Hole in Space". Wait for the 17th day here. As an added bonus, the Arilou that you meet whike waiting give you hints. 15.Continuing towards Beta Corvi, fetch the Warp Pod at Alpha Pavonis 7. 16.Stop at Beta Pegasi for another Rainbow World. 16. Meet the Slylandro at Source. Get the Self-Destruct sequence. 17. Head back to Arilou. Get the QuasiSpace Portal Device. 18. Now you can warp at will, get a nice map for the QuasiSpace/HyperSpace portals from the web. 19. Head to the Spathi homeworld, get the Umgah ´Caster. (Should be happened by now.) From now on, KEEP YOUR SPATHI SHIPS ALIVE AT ALL COSTS. 20. Call Melnorme, buy Tech. 21.And as always, go kick VUX ass with the Spathis for easy cash.
Ok, now you should have the QuasiSpace portal, some money, and there should optimally be not much more than a year of game time elapsed.

Also, if you make friends with the Supox and Utwig, that gives you an extra year or so before the Kohr-Ah start their genocidal campaign. If you follow the above tips, you should have plenty of time to spare, though.

The Spathi isn't the most powerful ship all-around. Try using it against Druuge or Yehat loyalists, you will die a horrible death. Slylandro, Thraddash and Mycon can be beaten with the Eluder, but it's still a poor choice.
Chmmr, Utwig and Orz trash all of the above.

Deep fried Lemur, anyone?

Chmmr aren't actually that great in game, because the way they fight earns them massive casualties. They are too expensive to use, in my opinion.

If you mean expensive in the literal sense, it doesn't matter since you have unlimited RU at the end of the game. That would be true if you wait to free the Chmmr until after you've collected everything else. As long as you don't have the Talking Pet and/or Utwig Bomb, the Chmmr will provide you ship designs, but not infinite RU. This, of course, means that you have to buy their ships out of your own pocket. Once both of these items are in your posession, you need only visit the Chmmr homeworld, and they will set you up to battle the Sa-Matra accordingly.
Essentially, the infinite RU is provided to offset the fact that you have most of your ship's slots filled up with that blasted contraption. Hehe, I made a funny!
