Kernel does not load
« on: September 24, 2005, 04:19:10 pm »

Hi Folks!

You cannot guess (or maybe you can) how happy I was to read that there is a version of starcon 2 ! But unfortunately, it does not run.

When I start the program via the desktop shortcut (I am using Win XP professional), it starts to load some drivers (SDL initialzing and so on), but after it says "sound decoders initialized", I have to read the line "Kernel does not load!". What to do now?
I am not an expert with Computers, I think that computers hate me and sometimes, so do I. But I just NEED to play this game, so any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like for some reason you don't have the content .uqm file installed. The installer should have taken care of that. How did you install the game? Did anything weird happen while installing?

I have exactly the same problem, instalation went smooth, two windows open up, one just blank, the other filed with text, as stated above. It hangs on 'Can not load kernal.' I will try reinstalling it and report back what happens.

ok, you just need to reinstall the basic game again, something must have been lost or corupted in the download. I did that and all works fine... so far... *chuckles*
