So what tool do you use to Modify the 3DO ISO

So what tool do you use to Modify the 3DO ISO.

I backed up my original copy of Star Control II for 3DO and I'm unable to find a tool that will open the ISO and allow for a repack (with new music , OGG) and save it as an ISO again for burn and play on the Panasonic 3DO FZ

I downloaded the zip files (3 Packs)

Basicaly when I try to open my ISO I get an error that it is not a valid iso.. (cause it's not a PC iso)  It mounts fine in Daemon .. but still I canot browse it's contents.

I'm sure this is an easy process once the right program is found.. just click and replace OGG with new OGG in sound directory.

I couldnt find a sticky with instructions on inserting the files or tool info.

Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks guys

Forget about it.
First, the 3DO doesn't contain a standard file system. While there are programs to extract files from a 3DO CD, there's nothing to create a 3DO file system, except for the original 3DO tools, which only actual 3DO developers had, and for which they had to sign a NDA.
Second, the music files on the 3DO CD are in a non-standard format. While we've got a program to convert from that format (I had to create one myself), there's no program to convert to it.
Third, the 3DO CD's are cryptographically signed. This means a custom built 3DO CD won't play on an unmodified 3DO unless it is signed by the 3DO corporation.

That's too bad  Sad I guess I was dreaming when I understood I could change all the cool tunes with even cooler tunes in the game..

I guess I will have to try my luck at the PC version of the game.  Is it any good ?  Better ? Worse ?

Where can I buy it .. or is it abandonware now?

No, you're just confusing Star Control II with The Ur-Quan Masters. Changing the music in UQM is easy. See the article on content management in UQM for details. Basically, create a ZIP file with the replacement OGGs in the right place and tell UQM to use it as an add-on package.

PC SC2 uses MOD music solely; getting an OGG to play it in would require major hacking.

Finding PC SC2 in the shops is, practically speaking, impossible. On-line auction sites may have some used copies.

UQM is, essentially, the same game as SC2 and much easier to get to run on current hardware, so I'd advise you to use it instead.
