Just learned today that there is a new Star Trek movie in the works. There's an announcement on startrek.com and the scheduled release year is 2008. The only thing I've been able to dig up on it is that it focuses on Kirk and Spock, in their academy years. This early though, anything can change and that bit might just be rumor anyways. What do the rest of ya think about a new movie on the horizon?

I can't believe that whoever owns this franchise would make dum and dummer 2 with star trek. I think if they were to make anything, it'd be another TNG movie, though hopefully not with the last director/writer or whoever was in charge of nemesis' overall direction.

I think that it's great that they're making a new Star Trek movie. I'd love to see it.
So far, nothing has been confirmed of what the story will be about. They also say that they're going to use a completely different crew.
They're also making 2 new Star Trek games: Star Trek: Legacy and Star Trek: Tactical Assault.
