For everyone out there who has a profile on facebook, whether you check it compulsively like some of us or only once in a long while, join the group for fans of star control! The group is "Star Control II: The Urquan-Masters"

By using facebook we can invite our friends to the group, they can see that a fair amount of people enjoy this classic game, may become interested, and might even download and play it if they never have before. I think it is a great way for people who otherwise wouldn't be interested to discover the game: seeing a friend join a group often sparks interest.

Already in it. I should point out that most of the forum-goers that I've seen around here are situated in Europe and not very many of them will know what Facebook is.

It's a less retarded version of MySpace. No spam invites, much more secure.

Myspace seems to be more about meeting random new people online, while facebook, at least for me, is more about keeping track of what all my friends are up to; planning events, seeing pictures

Ah, I think we have a version of that in Finland at least, IRC-galleria. People have profiles, post pictures from parties and so forth. Any Finnish more knowledgeable people want to confirm or deny?

I guess the biggest differance between facebook and myspace would be, in myspace anyone can view your profile and all that stuff, whereas in facebook you need to be friends in order to see someones full profile.

That and the event feature, where you can create a minigroup for an event. I dont think myspace has anythin like that.

Why do you assume that they're all in one place?

Because I'm one of them...

Myspace and Facebook aren't the only social networking sites.

Yes, but most people would like to keep their sanity and not attempt to track down every social networking site on the planet.

(FYI this is just a nice way of saying "nobody cares" without sounding like jerk)

Had to check my diary to be sure, nope thats not one I'm in on.  Apparently I'm supposed to be undermining morality and getting anime fangirls addicted to UQM by way of Fwiffo.
