Hello all of you space fairing fans
There is interest in developing a fan created and produced, semi-open-source, on-line game (engine cannot be open-source because it is also used by other products, but all other elements SHOULD and WILL be).
The basic idea is to avoid publishers decremental effect on the final product and basically enable fans themselves to stop complaining about the state of th industry and games at the moment and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!
We are a an independent, small group of game developers based in Slovenia (no name yet ) looking for options to create high quality free product to rival tons of corporate-produced bull***t curently being forced down our throats.
While we are still quite idealistic we are looking into options to make this idea real by any means necessary (without compromising the game itself).
NOW THE QUESTION IS: Since the production of a modern high quality game is no child's play and it requires a BUNCH of resources coming together in synergy we need the support of as many experienced people as possible! While we are willing to take care of basic core needs (organisation, engine, version editing software, big portion of modeling, texturing, etc.) we are interested in the following: JUST HOW MANY OF YOU OUT THERE ARE WILLING TO PUT SOME OF YOUR TIME INTO A CONCENTRATED EFFORT, SO WE WOULD ACTUALY BE ABLE TO DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF JUST TALKING ABOUT IT?
TO BE FAIR: This is a long shot to begin with and this inqury is just a part of the initial research we are doing in order to determine the possibilities of making all this a reality. Any feedback will help and will be greatly apriciated!
Thank you all for your time -Luka

Hello all
A detailed answer will be a bit long-winded so I will create a new topic in order to explain things thoroughly.
P.S: On second thought my nickname seems a bit cheesy, I wanted to be clear about our intentions with it.
