So I just played this game for the first time in years.
The Dynarri should have won the game. The black Ur-Quaan were rampaging through the sector, exterminating the battle thralls. They eliminated the Umgah, but left the talking pet at their homeworld unscathed. At that point, he should have taken control of one of their ships and escaped. But instead I came upon him, and instead of sending me off to fight Ur-Quaan like he normally did, he volunteered to join me. I did not have the Taalo shield, for reasons explained below. I should have been his lapdog. But instead he referred to my psychic defenses, and the story proceeded normally. This should have been a nightmare ending.
For whatever reason, I never stumbled on the Mycon egg fragments at a shattered world. This was frustrating, because EVERYONE I talked to knew about the deep children, but the Syreen just wouldn't believe me. I randomly sampled several Mycon worlds, and recall seeing several shattered ones, but never noticed any egg fragments. Eventually I got the sun device anyway, because the Korh-Ah conveniently extinctified the Mycon guarding the sun device for me.
I was rather frustrated. Perhaps I should have checked back with the Druudge, to buy their egg fragments. I think they were angry with them because I claimed "their" precursor planeteering device, so they might not have cooperated.
This all seems like a rather cheesey way to win. Oh well.

Probably because he is the only one of his kind then. What could happen is he could mind control the Kohr-ah, order the Umgah to repeat the intelligence boost operation on the talking pets of the Marauder ships and then they could, potentially, repopulate.

He didn't because he's cunning. For every Kohr-Ah he controlled, two more would be activating excruciators. He would have been bombarded into glass before long, so he hid and waited for an opportunity. Why he didn't mind control the crew of the Vindicator to at least save him from dying with the bomb is a better question, but oh well.

Sharing is good.

I don't mean to ruin the fun, but... was that even canon?

I assume it was all a joke at the end. The Supox eating a dog, the Arilou probing you if you slept with your window open, and the Dnyarri being a-ok were fun jokes, but they were presumably non canon.
Besides, the only gratuitous alien sex there was in the sequel was when you lingered too long around an unstable star system, and that wasn't very gratuitous. Or canon. Or good.
