Star Control reference in Penny-Arcade

The comic updated a few hours before the news today on Penny-Arcade, so I was surprised when Tycho mentioned a Star Control reference in the strip. Searching diligently I finally found it. Look at the last frame. "PKUNK!"

It's probably making fun of the Chinese olypmics. The thing in the last strip is a "Blue Shell" from Mario Kart, it finds the guy in 1st place then blows them up, in this case "Pkunk'd".
